Continue tatting following the diagram and stitch pattern as before. There are three more repeats of the rings and chains all with 7 picots in each chain section.

Then tat as follows:
Ring (2 - 2 + 2 + 2 - 2 - 2)
Tie an overhand knot in the shuttle and ball threads like the knot you make to tie your shoes. This is called a SLT or Shoe Lace Trick. It switches the place of the two threads.
Ring at the point of the bottom of the heart:
Ring (2 + 2 - 2 SP LP SP 2 - 2 - 2)
SLT
Ring (2 + 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2)
This is the first ring of the second side of the heart. The rest of the heart is the mirror image of what you have already tatted. Follow the instructions in reverse order back to the beginning where the last chain section joins to the first.
Tie the ends together in a square knot, hide the ends and cut them off close to the work, or tie them in a loop to hang the heart for a decoration.
